The Punjab Government has intensified its efforts to support the public through the 8070 Ramzan Relief Package. Known as the Nigehban Program, this year’s initiative has moved beyond just distribution lines, introducing a more dignified, digital-first approach to social welfare.
For 2026, the program offers a hybrid of Rs. 10,000 cash assistance and a Free Ration Bag containing essential kitchen staples, ensuring that approximately 4.2 million families in Punjab can observe Ramadan with ease.

2026 New Updates: What’s Changed?
The 2026 model is focused on “Dignity at the Doorstep.” Key changes include:
- The Nigehban Card: A dedicated digital card issued by the Bank of Punjab (BOP) used for withdrawing cash from ATMs and purchasing subsidized items at Utility Stores.
- Integrated Verification: The system now cross-checks data with NADRA, BISP, and the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) in real-time to eliminate fraud.
- Doorstep Biometric Verification: For widows and senior citizens, government teams visit homes with mobile biometric devices to verify identity and hand over relief packages directly.
Eligibility Criteria (Updated 2026)
To ensure the relief reaches the “white-collared” poor and truly deserving families, the following criteria apply:
- Income Limit: The total monthly household income must be less than Rs. 60,000.
- Asset Check: Applicants must not own a registered car or more than 2 acres of agricultural land.
- Poverty Score: A PMT (Poverty Means Test) score below 32 as per the latest NSER/BISP survey.
- Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Punjab with a valid 13-digit CNIC.
- Exclusions: Government employees (Grade 17+) and active tax filers with high-value transactions are generally excluded.
How to Check Status via 8070
If you are already registered in the PSER or BISP database, you don’t need a new application. Follow these steps to check your eligibility:

- Step 2: Type your 13-digit CNIC number (without any dashes or spaces).
- Step 3: Send the message to 8070.
- Step 4: You will receive a reply indicating whether you are “Eligible” or “Under Verification.”
How to Register Online (If Not Found)

- Go to
pser.punjab.gov.pk. - Register using your CNIC and mobile number.
